Dare, Part 2

So today (being Saturday where we are), as this post goes live Diane and I are en route to the gorgeous Hunter Valley with some friends from church on a day trip to enjoy the marvellous array of wineries and providores. Yum. But enough about that. If it gets blogged, hopefully it will be on Diane's...since hers is supposed to be about food and such. Back here though, I've got part 2 of the Dare posts and more of that "eeww" style humour. Again, Facebook readers will need to click through to my blog to see the video.

Dare, Part 1

I know it's lazy of me to keep putting up advertising, but, in my defence (cos someone has to...what with people nicking my sexy mug for their avatars an' all), this - like all the others I put up - never fails to make me laugh. And, as the title suggests, there's another one coming tomorrow. Gotta keep myself amused while I write (program) Christian electronica masterpieces in the early evening hours down under before Twitter comes back to life, don't I. And yes, I am (now) aware that Michael Jackson has died.  (Isn't post scheduling fun!)  Farrah Fawcett too for that matter, though that is now old news.  It is all very sad, but no more newsworthy than a gazillion other things which happen every day in our tragic fallen world.  I am undoubtedly a fan of Michael's older music (ok, it's all fairly old now).  He has a rich legacy of musical brilliance that I hope will shine brighter than his el bizarro life. I also hope he met Jesus, but I don't know yet.  One day. Facebook viewers will need to click through to my blog though...since videos don't auto embed there from the blog-as-Facebook-notes application yada yada...

Happy EOFYS

As some of you may have picked up along the way, I'm an accountant in my former professional incarnation. As COO, I still overlook the finance department of my company, but it's not the core focus of my attention. PTL/FTW/etc. Australia's financial (or fiscal, or tax, year) ends on 30 June. 30 June 2009 will be special as it will be the last day of my first 6 months of blogging. And days don't get more special than that. In the meantime though, some more shrewd Aussie marketing. There is nothing better than an advertisement that is both a full-blown musical and the invention of a new annual event.

Owner of Freaky Thumbs

Some of you might be aware that most of my social media profile thingys include the phrase "owner of freaky thumbs" A few of you might even know why. But as I've been getting more and more random enquiries about this, it's clear a lot of you don't.  In fact, up until very recently (like last week), it was possibly the single biggest topic of Twitter direct messages sent to me. Yeah, bizarro. So, for all of you who have no idea what I'm on about, this amazing piece of cinematography should clear it up. So tell me...what's freaky about you?

Something "special"

You may have seen some references splashed around this blog, other blogs and Twitter about my latest song. Well, all the waiting is over...here it is. I'm sure you'll agree it's pretty "special". Mainly because it's really short and recorded in my usual midnight-whispery vocals to be kind to the neighbours (actually, more of this song than usual is just downright out of tune - haha), but possibly also because it's a co-write with the person who is the subject of the song.  Only thing is, she has no idea which particular lyrics have been selected from the myriad she has submitted, or just how liberal I've been with editing them. Enjoy, be horrified. Or both. Or neither. You have the power. Oh, and one day, I'll get a recording on here where I'm not concerned about the neighbours. I'm getting a little tired of the mono-dimensional voice featuring on these songs ! C'est la vie...

Poll: a step too far...maybe...?

There's been a little bit of Conchord Flying around the blogosphere in the past week or so. When it first came out, Diane and I watched a few episodes, but for whatever reason it didn't really click with us at the time.  I've been trying to think what was going on 2 years ago that made it unfunny for us.  I got nothing at the moment. Well, in fact, I find this video of theirs very very funny... But, at the same time, it probably crosses a line that perhaps shouldn't be crossed.  I'm not sure though, so I need you to decide for me in the poll down there in the comments. Ok, so I'm really just testing out some of the funky new Intense Debate comment coolness, but I thought I should actually make it something worth commenting on (ie: semi controversial, perhaps) So scoot on over and watch the video (decided not to embed, you may know why once you've finished the 2 minutes), then come on back and vote! And Jenni...that song...it really is on its way.  I've got lots of great excuses for the delay.  You'll love them.  Really, you will.  The latest one is particularly great. Next post though...Diane's guest blog on When Heaven Invades Earth, Part II.  I can't wait !

Rad to the power of Sick : The Art of eBay

We all know eBay has hosted some fairly funny "sales" in the past.  This however, is a real sale gone viral, and with good reason...

Obviously you'll need to drill down to the pics to read this, so check out the fine print, and get some laughter into your life.

Kids, eh...
Remember, it's funny, 'K :)
