Worship : 28 June 2009

This post is part of the weekly Sunday Setlists blog carnival over at FredMckinnon.com. Go and check out the other setlists too! A big day...probably not bigger than normal, but Diane and I had a big theological/doctrinal discussion between the services which made the 4 hours in between feel like about 4 minutes. But I'm not gonna go into that here. You've all got lives, and we often have theological &/or doctrinal discussions - they just don't usually effectively last all day. ;) Both services continued our "Let The Word Do The Work" series. Diane noted with the editing that needs to be done for the TV program, this series could well end up getting into double-digits by the time it makes the small screen. Music Sunday AM 1. Can I Have More Of You? (Byrnes) 2. Let God Arise (Tomlin, Reeves, Cash) 3. Lord Of Lords (Fraser / Hillsong) 4. He Is Lord (Fielding / Hillsong) ...then following tithes, offerings, news... 5. Let God Arise (reprise) ...and for the ministry/end of service 6. He Is Lord (reprise) Rachael led today, and did a good job. She's now rostered on to lead once per month, which means that in most months, each of the worship leaders will lead once per month. But back to the music. The transition between the first and second songs was particularly seamless (as I've noted in the past, transitions are something we do well...this one was just really nice, where we started the drum roll which opens Let God Arise as the closing beat for Can I Have More Of You...it drew lots of appreciation from the congregation, and I enjoyed it as it's good to keep trying new arrangement tweaks; often transitions provide great opportunities to do this.) He Is Lord was new for us, and the people worshipped freely and openly, as it is definitely one of the most loved songs from Hillsong's 2008 album This Is Our God. Loved by our congregation anyway. Sunday PM 1. Tell The World (Douglass, Houston, Sampson / Hillsong) 2. Show Me Your Glory (Murgida / Harbourside) ...then following tithes, offerings, news... 3. Who Tha King? (Reddy, Losurdo, Costello / Harbourside) Troy led tonight, and the undoubted highlight was the new rap the youth had put together based on a poem/declaration written by our pastor. It. was. hot, and reminiscent of Run DMC's Down With The King album (and the drums were more than a little like their Walk This Way fusion as well) It will definitely make its way on to our album. A friend noted our album is going to be very varied. It sure is, but that accurately reflects our church too. Hyper eclectic. Worship+ 1. Stronger (Morgan / Hillsong) 2. You Are Here (The Same Power) (Pankratz, George / Hillsong) 3. Who Tha King? (reprise) Short and sweet tonight as the message went a fair bit longer than our evening services often do (though I had no idea at the time - it didn't feel long), it was still a great time of soaking worship with all of the singers taking turns leading...though Troy's voice was spent by the time of the rap reprise, so we danced for that instead. Lots of fun. Other Stuff Half way through the practice/soundcheck this morning, it became evident there was a problem with front of house sound. That problem was that there was no sound. Oh dear. Turns out there was a 'problem' with the digital processing unit. I quickly did some bypass wiring to get sound in some of the FOH speakers, emailed my company's database to release an unlock code for me for the unit, and spent some time after the service resetting and getting the wires back in place. Potential for being frazzled and stressed was nicely averted by the confidence I knew I could (a) rig up a suitable alternative, and (b) ultimately fix the problem. What did the weekend hold for you ?

Worship : 21 June 2009

This post is part of the weekly Sunday Setlists blog carnival over at FredMckinnon.com. Go and check out the other setlists too! Firstly, it's not Father's Day in Australia. That doesn't happen until September. I have no idea why. But it at least explains why there's no mention of it anywhere else in this post, huh. I really don't know how to describe today. On the one hand, Diane was unwell and stayed home to sleep. And on the other, our encounter with God in both today's meetings was precious, rejuvenating, beautiful...but incomplete because I wasn't sharing it with my wife. *sigh* One day, and I hope it will be soon, the messages from our church will be available as vodcasts on iTunes. Then I won't need to try and cursorily summarise them here ;) The AM message was part 2 of the "Let The Word Do The Work" series, and it was one of those messages that was filled with lightbulb moments. For some scant details on the PM message...have a look further down the page, under the PM music section. Just mixing it up a little. Music Sunday AM 1. Happy Day (Hughes, Cantelon) 2. For Your Glory (Pringle / C3) 3. Lord Of Lords (Fraser / Hillsong) 4. Worthy Is The Lamb (Murgida / Harbourside) ...then following tithes, offerings, news... 5. Forever Praise (Goodwin / Harbourside) ...and for the ministry/end of service 6. Let It Rain (Farren) Margaret led this morning, pulling down heaven into the room in the most awesome of ways. Her exhortations were exactly right for the service today, and all the songs fit together this morning perfectly...with both the opening upbeat songs having a similar-ish feel, and both the slower songs being in 3/4 time. I don't know about you, but songs in 3/4 time (apart from making me want to waltz on the stage) always seem to get the congregation worshipping more intimately, passionately. Question: Do you find there are time signatures that just click better with your congregations ? The ministry time included some lots of spontaneous worship in tongues and meditating on Jesus' name. After which, no-one wanted to go. It always amuses me when that happens. "Come on people, you'll be back again in a couple of hours...go and get some lunch." And after being the hit of the evening service last week, the riffing on Men at Work's Down Under become the meet 'n' greet background music once again. However, as I was on stage, I got to do my very best exceptionally bad Colin Hay impersonation and sing about chundering men. Fun though. Another question : do you, my readers from across the globe, know what "where women glow and men chunder" means?  Is that an appropriate question to ask in a worship post? Whatever...it's been asked...too late now.  And it's my blog anyway; I'll ask what I like  Sunday PM 1. Salvation (Seeley / Planetshakers) 2. This Is Our God (Morgan, Fielding / Hillsong) ...then following tithes, offerings, news... 3. Shout You Praise (Orosa, Araullo, Reddy / Harbourside) Julie led yet again tonight, even though she didn't vocally lead any of the songs. She handled this really well, and she's gonna be a great worship leader well before she turns 16 at this rate. We didn't have Worship+ tonight, as after the message and altar call, Pastor played us a song called There Is A King In You from the Donald Lawrence album The Law Of Confession, Part 1, which I talked about last week...so have a look in that post for more information...or Google him, or find him up in iTunes...or watch listen to the video mp3-masquerading-as-a-video of the song that closed our service. Click through to YouTube to find some more of his stuff too. Other Stuff Um, I think I covered most of this in other places. Like, under the hyper extended music section above. As I said...mixing it up a bit. Or just not organised. You choose. So what did you get up to today ?

Worship : 14 June 2009

This post is part of the weekly Sunday Setlists blog carnival over at FredMckinnon.com. Go and check out the other setlists too! Amazing how missing a week in your home church makes you so hungry to be back there when it really is home.  And it is home. We started a new series of AM messages titled "Let The Word Do The Work", so over the past few weeks we've also been playing some of the awesome gospel stylings of Donald Lawrence and the Tri-City Singers before and after the meetings. If you look up iTunes you'll find him, and we've been playing his 2009 album The Law Of Confession, Part 1. (I can only link to the Aussie iTunes store...which isn't much use for most of you who read this...so I haven't done it. I'm sure you'll cope.)  Good good stuff, and so far removed from what we could achieve in our team with our whiter-than-whiteness for most of the team.  Oh, and part 1 of the message series was great too - looking forward to the rest! The PM service was about debt cancellation, and was both informative and inspirational. A good thing. Music Sunday AM 1. Break Free (Houston, Ligertwood Crocker / Hillsong) 2. No One Like You (David Crowder*Band) 3. To Meet You Here (Scarpato, Goodwin / Harbourside) 4. This Is Our God (Morgan / Hillsong) ...then following tithes, offerings, news... 5. Now Is The Time (Delirious?) ...and for the ministry/end of service 6. This Is Our God (Morgan / Hillsong) 7. Run (Houston / Hillsong) I was leading again for the first time in three weeks, and it was good fun. I muffed some lyrics in No One Like You, and the drummer set the tempo at about 2 gazillion BPM, but it was still hilariously fun and the congregation are continuing to love this song. The slow songs today were particularly sweet - we had some solid 5 part harmony again, and a virtually acapella chorus in "To Meet You Here" - and I've mentioned it before, but I'm looking forward to when we record this song. Talking of recording, I played the team the rough mix from Saturday's recording session of "Redeemer". Everyone was as excited as I was with the result, and Margaret (the writer and lead vocalist) said it's just as she imagined it when she wrote it. We did some very cool choir things in the studio that have come out really sweetly. Two tracks down, and this novice producer is very happy :) Sunday PM 1. Tell The World (Douglass, Houston, Sampson / Hillsong) 2. Hosanna (Fraser / Hillsong) ...then following tithes, offerings, news... 3. Say So (Houghton, Gungor) ...and then for Worship+ after the service 4. Awesome God / Perfect Son (Mullins, Reddy / Harbourside) 5. Stronger (Morgan, Fielding / Hillsong) 6. More Than Life (Morgan / Hillsong) 7. For Your Glory (Pringle / C3) Julie led again tonight, and as I mentioned last time, she's 15. However, even more exciting was seeing 13 year old Matil do a stunning job song leading for "Hosanna". Blown away. Troy led for Worship+, and did a great job as always. Other Stuff For the meet & greet fill-in riff, the team tonight played Men at Work's "Down Under".  Very funny, since none of them were even born when it came out.  Of course, our former rock band leader pastor started singing it, including the "where women glow and men chunder line"...naturally.  Very very funny.  He even finished by saying "ok, now let's get back to holy".  Ha! Our pastor also talked to Diane at length about a possible ministry opportunity which might be coming up. It would be a paid position. This is unfathomably exciting, but I'll leave her to share (or not share) further details at this stage...(btw, you should know that she's far more likely not to share anything) How about your weekend ?

Worship : 31 May 2009

This post is part of the weekly Sunday Setlists blog carnival over at FredMckinnon.com. Make sure you check out the other setlists too! The church is still on a high from the conferences and guest speakers from the past few weeks, but more than just being on a high, we're excited about what doors God is opening for us, and closing others too.   It's been great having a quiet-ish week since then to soak all of it in, and prepare for moving forward - wherever that may be. Today's AM message was drawn on 2 Cor 8:7 (shown in the Amplified translation below) :
Now as you abound and excel and are at the front in everything - in faith, in expressing yourselves, in knowledge, in all zeal, and in your love for us - [see to it that you come to the front now and] abound and excel in this gracious work [of almsgiving] also.
and looked at what those things we are told we excel at mean... The PM message expanded on some of the themes from the morning, partly focusing on the Hebrew word for prosperity "shalowm". The more I think about how to describe the message, the less able I feel to do so in a short space...so I won't. There was lots there. Like there always is. Music Sunday AM 1. I'm Not Ashamed (Andrew, Thomas / Hillsong) 2. Can I Have More Of You? (Byrnes) 3. Lead Me To The Cross (Fraser / Hillsong) 4. Where You Go, I'll Go (Johnson, Mohr / Bethel) ...then following tithes, offerings, news... 5. No One Like You (David Crowder*Band) ...and for the ministry/end of service 6. Where You Go, I'll Go (Johnson, Mohr / Bethel) Rachel led for the first time this morning. She's 17 and has been in the main team since she was 14. She's been a song leader, as opposed to a worship leader, for just on 2 years and tt was great to see her rise up a level into leadership from being a singer and No.2 keyboardist. She'd been deep in prayer about it all week, and though a little nervous, she has such a well-developed dependence on God that she did a beautiful job leading the worship today. It's only the beginning :) Sunday PM 1. For Your Glory (Pringle / C3) 2. Saving Son (Murgida / Harbourside) ...then following tithes, offerings, news... 3. Shout You Praise (Orosa, Araullo, Reddy / Harbourside) ...and then for Worship+ after the service 4. For Your Glory (Pringle / C3) 5. More Than Life (Morgan / Hillsong) 6. With Everything (Houston / Hillsong) 7. Let It Rain (Farren) Julie led tonight. She's 15. Rachel, who led this morning, is her elder sister. I've said it before, but I love seeing our youth rise up as leaders. Our pastor said he remembered her as a toddler. She took it all in stride (she's not one for attention), and did a beautiful job leading us into the throneroom. Worship+ was quite probably the best it's ever been as a worship encounter. Invigorating. Taking a cue from Steff, a Sunday Setlists blogger who often includes videos of the songs in her sets, I thought I'd include this one, the title track from C3's 2008 album. We've been doing this for several months now, and it's a great upbeat song - lots of dancing happening. C3 may not be as famous as Hillsong or Planetshakers, but many would be aware of Phil Pringle's Christian City Church international network. Semi-interesting aside : Phil Pringle and Brian Houston grew up together in New Zealand, so I'm told by a very reliable source.  Amazing to think that two of the main church leaders from the southern hemisphere were childhood friends... Other Stuff: No-One Like You was new for us. It went really well...except that the words for the projection were typed up in an el bizarro manner apparently, so were very hard to follow. Diane will #prorably get around to fixing those soon... Finally, my twitter followers may know that the front fill speakers I mentioned last week were indeed a problem...they'd been blown. Unfun. No-one's sure how it happened; no-one ever is. Thankfully, working where I do, I was able to wangle some of our hire stock and get the issue fixed until ours are repaired. How about your weekend ?

Worship : 24 May 2009

This post is part of the weekly Sunday Setlists blog carnival over at FredMckinnon.com. Make sure you check out the other setlists too! Following the HUGE weekend last week, there was great momentum flowing to carry us into the conference we were hosting at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. And regardless of your views of Kenneth Copeland, hosting one of his conferences was always going to be a big deal for a small(ish) church. And I must say, the conference was awesome - in the true Biblical sense of the word. But this post isn't about the conference (which was Thursday to Saturday). This is about worship in my local church on Sunday. Just like it normally is. The conference will likely be blogged either here or over at Diane's place sometime soon. This morning was my RDO. These seem to come around really quickly, but I get blessed so much by the team that I look forward to the off-stage opportunity more and more. We had Rev Michael Flowers preach, which was one of those examples of serendipitous circumstance that I love to share in.  Michael serves KCM as the head usher for the conferences, which consumes the vast majority of his time, though he also has his own fledgling ministry. He preached a message of love today unlike any I have ever heard. It spoke right to my heart, and given some news we had heard earlier, this helped focus our thoughts and our prayers, while also being a beautiful summary of the marvelous time we had shared in over the preceding three days at conference. In fact, to describe church this morning as a LoveFest would not be exaggerating at all. We are so blessed to be part of such a beautiful family. But don't for a minute think I'm saying that we're perfect or anything like that. Just read my prior worship posts. We're still human, but I can see tangible differences, renewal, restoration, unity...love. Music Sunday AM 1. What The World Will Never Take (Crocker, Ligertwood, Sampson / Hillsong) 2. Your Name High (Houston / Hillsong) 3. Stronger (Morgan, Fielding / Hillsong) 4. Worthy Is The Lamb (Murgida / Harbourside) ...then following tithes, offerings, news... 5. this was going to be Your Name High...but the way the service went, no song was needed ...and for the ministry/end of service 6. This Is Our God (Morgan / Hillsong) Margaret led today, and did a great job leading the youth team. It's great to have dependable, servant-hearted people to do church and life with.  She also wrote the 4th song we did today.  It is beautiful and I'm looking forward to recording it in the coming months. There seemed to be a technical issue with our front fill speakers, but I didn't get a chance to look at them today - so that's a task for the week that I will be getting one of my service techs (from work) to check them out. While Ken was preaching at Hillsong for the evening service, Diane and I took advantage of the last of our weekends without a night service to visit my convalescing mum (staying with my aunt and uncle on the upper north shore of Sydney) and spend some time with a few of my cousins as well. It was great to see mum improving more and more...though after seven weeks away from home (a 9 hour drive away), she's keen to get back there, which will hopefully happen in two weeks' time... What did you get up to this weekend ?

Worship : 15 & 17 May 2009

This post is part of the weekly Sunday Setlists blog carnival over at FredMckinnon.com. Make sure you check out the other setlists too! So, the biggest weekend ever in the history of our church is over. Exhausted yet exhilarated. And very very glad that it all went so smoothly we had some unexpected leisure time in the midst of it all. Praise God. On Friday, I had the day off to prepare myself for the meeting, and came into the evening well rested and calm. This was v.good, as most other people were running on lots of nervous energy and were a bit on edge about the enormity of what was happening that night for our little church. Dr Jerry Savelle rocked the house with a powerful service which essentially summarised his 40 years in ministry - and specifically what he'd learned about trials and applying God's word in those times, despite what the world thinks. I'd just recently finished reading his ministry biography "In The Footsteps Of A Prophet", so much of it was fresh in my mind...but that didn't lessen the thrill of meeting the man briefly following the service. He was gracious and friendly (though the jet-lag was obvious too), and it was a little like meeting the Queen with key people in the church lining the room where we met to share supper, and he went around shaking hands and briefly greeting everyone. Rewind to the meeting again though, after he preached he laid hands on everyone there.  I want to give special thanks to our church Love in Action team members who co-ordinated the packed house to move through the church building up to the front in a fast, orderly manner.  Jerry finished by laying hands on the worship team (we'd been ministering while he laid hands on the rest of the people), and the guys did well to make sure at least one instrument was always playing throughout this process.  Awesome. On Saturday, a lot of people went to the Benny Hinn meetings, but Diane and I had some stuff to do with the sale of our home, visiting my mum, and trying to get 100 pics of stuff taken. Then on Sunday, Rev Barry Tubbs from Kenneth Copeland Ministries preached a message on "A Little More Help".   This message was packed so full of references that we took 3 pages of notes...or rather, Diane did, as I had to run up the back of the church to check on some minor technical hitches. Nothing world-stopping, but needed to be attended to.  And a rare weekend where this was literally the only thing that went wrong (at least that I'm aware of, and being on the board, I know about most things fairly quickly) Barry was a truly humble man, and Diane was, I think, a little taken aback by the depth and quality of his message. Anyway, on with the week ahead... We're hosting the Kenneth & Gloria Copeland conferences this coming weekend at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. So while that will be bigger than this weekend just gone, it's not on our own church premises, and we're also not providing the worship - just lots of volunteers and team captains. And when I say just, I mean 40% of the church volunteered. Awesome. Music Friday PM 1. I'm Not Ashamed (Andrew, Thomas/Hillsong) 2. Run (Houston/Hillsong) 3. Redeemer (Murgida/Harbourside) 4. All For Love / Shout Unto God (Webster, Sampson/Hillsong) ...then following tithes, offerings, news... 5. Happy Day (Hughes/Soul Survivor) ...and for the ministry/end of service 6. Rain Down - bridge only (Seeley/Planetshakers) 7. Shout Unto God (Sampson/Hillsong) 8. Run (Houston/Hillsong) Wow! I have no words to describe how it felt to be leading an over-packed house in praise and worship. The whole team has been excited about this night since it was announced a few months ago. I was the main leader, but I got all the worship leaders to get involved in the leading - kind of like Hillsong do (surprise, surprise) - and we are likely to do more of this, it worked so well. Apparently, Jerry was very impressed, and he was singing along, which I'm told is significant (!). Importantly, the team were all thrilled with how it went, as was our pastor... So much so, that he decided he wanted the same team for Sunday morning, so late on Saturday I chased everyone up and got it organised. Sunday AM 1. Salvation (Seeley/Planetshakers) 2. Happy Day (Hughes, Cantelon/Hillsong) 3. Rain Down (Seeley/Planetshakers) 4. This Is Our God (Morgan/Hillsong) ...then following tithes, offerings, news... 5. Run (Houston/Hillsong) ...and for the ministry/end of service 6. Shout Unto God - just the chords, no vocals (Sampson/Hillsong) 8. Run (Houston/Hillsong) Dante led this morning, and is getting better and better both as a leader and a singer. He did an awesome job directing the team - including asking me for advice when he wasn't sure. I love that too - team members willing to ask when they need help. Our night services have been cancelled for the next couple of weeks to give everyone a chance to breathe in the midst of the busy-ness. Hallelujah! So Diane and I took advantage of the most perfect day in ages, put the top down in the car, and headed for the beautiful Blue Mountains. But Diane will be blogging about that soon...I hope... At the moment she's a little caught up with all things Eurovision though. Fun! And yes, Run is our pastor's current favourite song. I might have mentioned that before. We also do it really well if I don't say so myself. Happy Day too for that matter. Cue self-congratulations all round. How was your weekend ?

Worship : 10 May 2009

This post is part of the weekly Sunday Setlists blog carnival over at FredMckinnon.com. Make sure you check out the other setlists too! Happy Mothers Day! Every mother (including the expectant ones) in the church were given flowers and a small gift today, and individually prayed for and honoured in front of the church. Beautiful. This week had a feeling of anticipation...and with good reason...Dr Jerry Savelle is coming this Friday. Our board meeting last week was a very exciting place to be as we worked through all the logistics (no, really...it was great). Today was our final message on Training For Reigning, and it was a great message, with me taking a few notes for song seeds. We'll see where they end up in the coming weeks. Music Sunday AM 1. You Deserve (Crocker, Dunlop/Hillsong) 2. Run (Houston/Hillsong) 3. To Meet You Here (Goodwin, Scarpato/Harbourside) 4. Where You Go, I'll Go (Johnson, Mohr/Bethel) While the praise was good, the worship was amazing today...To Meet You Here, which we haven't done for a few weeks, really struck a chord with the congregation, and I could hear them singing above the band at times (which I love).  Where You Go, I'll Go has very quickly become a new congregation favourite, and watching the people worship wholeheartedly is really rewarding for me as the music direction. Oh, and I was back leading today too. Sunday PM 1. I'm Not Ashamed (Andrew, Thomas/Hillsong) 2. Stronger (Morgan, Fielding/Hillsong) 3. For Your Glory (Pringle/C3) ...and... 4. More Than Life (Morgan/Hillsong) 5. Fire Fall Down (Sampson/Hillsong) 6. Awesome God/Perfect Son (Mullins + Reddy /Hillsong) Merv led tonight, and is getting better and better both as a leader and a singer. Love that. The evening finished in truly awesome style with the firm favourite Awesome God mashed with our own rap Perfect Son, and then the some free-style rap praise. Gotta say, I love seeing grandmothers getting their praise on to rock-rap. I'm really looking forward to recording this song later in the year. The Attempt At Joy-Stealing Our church services are shown on TV in Sydney & Melbourne, which involves them being recorded on 3 cameras and then the masterful Diane creating a few 25 minute TV programs from the sermons. This morning, the cameras stopped working while the worship team was rehearsing, and none of our enthusiastic band of amateurs could get it sorted. I didn't get a chance to have a look since I was on stage (and I'm no expert in this anyway, believe me), but suffice to say, there was no recording of the message this morning.  That also meant our usual projection of the service to the creche, parent's room and cafe areas couldn't happen either.  A few things were said in the heat of the moment which hurt a few people - and I'm not saying who on either count, just that it wasn't me - but long story short, we (Diane and I) spent the time between services troubleshooting so that it would work for tonight. And it did. I'm also not putting here what the problem was - suffice to say the word 'numpty' sprang to mind a few times. *clenchedteethgrin* "All things work together for my good" - I grabbed those words today and held on tight. And you know, it's true. Praise God! What did you get up to this weekend ?

Worship...and some other stuff : 3 May 2009

This post is part of the weekly Sunday Setlists blog carnival over at FredMckinnon.com. Make sure you check out the other setlists too! Confession : I vlog because I'm lazy. Or rather, I prefer playing with iMovie than typing. Music Sunday AM 1. My Future Decided (Houston, Douglass, Sampson/Hillsong) 2. Kingdom Come (Fielding/Hillsong) 3. Show Me Your Glory (Murgida/Harbourside) 4. Where You Go, I'll Go (Johnson, Mohr/Bethel) 5. Hosanna (Fraser/Hillsong) Sunday PM 1. Salvation (Seeley/Planetshakers) 2. Healer (Guglielmucci/Planetshakers) 3. One Way (Houston, Douglass/Hillsong) ...and... 4. Awesome God / Perfect One (Mullins / Reddy) 5. With Everything (Houston) Everything else is in the vloggy thingy. Except that I didn't talk about the PM service at all. I was on the main camera for that service due to some people not turning up. I've never done that before so I had a crash course 10 minutes before the service. No doubt Diane will tell me if I did any good since she'll edit it all into the church TV program. Eek! Come to think of it, I didn't really talk much about either service. But on the upside, this vlog is much shorter than most of my vlogs. Diane took the picture below from the tech desk during the morning service. It looks like Close Encounters is underway on stage...and we were having a very close encounter, just not of the alien variety. Ha. Ha. That's me on the left in the asymmetrical white+black+grey cardigan. The big blurry thing with the diagonal line. Yeah, that.

Worship : 19 April 2009

This post is part of the weekly Sunday Setlists blog carnival over at FredMckinnon.com. Make sure you check out the other setlists too! A quick report, because it's been yet another great day of music, teaching, prayer and celebration as we came together and worshipped God at Harbourside. I don't wanna bore you with repeating the same thing every week. As I've said before (oops..too late...), it's hard to convey just what happened if you weren't there... Do any of you feel like that when God is consistently doing big things in your church? Am I just not trying hard enough? Music Sunday AM 1. Forever Praise (Goodwin/Harbourside) 2. Home (Sampson/Hillsong) 3. Rain Down (Seeley/Planetshakers) 4. You'll Come (Fraser/Hillsong) 5. Now Is The Time (Delirious?) Sunday PM 1. You Name High (Houston/Hillsong) 2. Stronger (Morgan, Fielding/Hillsong) 3. What The World Will Never Take (Houston/Hillsong) ...and... 4. All Day (Sampson/Hillsong) 5. Shout You Praise (Harbourside) 6. Run (kinda) (Houston/Hillsong) The youth ran the whole meeting tonight...so it was pumping v.loudly and v.high adrenalin. I mean, even higher than normal. Great fun, but still reverent too. How about your Sunday?

Worship : Easter Weekend

This post is part of the weekly Sunday Setlists blog carnival over at FredMckinnon.com. Make sure you check out the other setlists too! Time for our weekly worship vlog aka Return of the Lipsmackers. This week includes the singing that we hinted at last time, but you have to endure wait right til the end.  Apologies for the slight distortion in there...I clearly needed to reduce the gain on my mic when I was singing (ie: be further away ;).  Then there's the other rubbish I did in place of harmonies.  Anyway... We had a GREAT day today...one of those that's becoming more common; where the Holy Spirit takes over and the program gets put to the side. I. Love. This. There's a bit about that in the vlog. Kinda. So have a look, and share in our Easter. HE IS RISEN! Music Good Friday 1. Worthy Is The Lamb (Murgida/Harbourside) 2. Lead Me To The Cross (Fraser/Hillsong) 3. At The Foot Of The Cross (Ashes To Beauty) (Scott/Vineyard) No words needed, it's in the vlog. Resurrection Sunday 1. Tell The World (Houston/Hillsong) 2. Happy Day (Hughes, Cantelon) 3. This Is Our God (Morgan, Fielding/Hillsong) 4. Mighty To Save (Morgan, Fielding/Hillsong) ...and... 5. The Anthem (Seeley/Planetshakers) 6. How Great Is Our God (Tomlin, etc) ...and closed with Happy Day again. Again, it's all in the vlog.  Except to say we did a great transition from This Is Our God to Mighty To Save that was refreshing and unexpected without being confusing - it's good to mix up arrangements a little here and there. Other Stuff Healing testimonies continued...this week, a young guy who broke his arm and had it in plaster testified of it being completely healed.  His doctor agreed and removed the plaster after only a few days of it being on! Today though, the key phrase was free favours from God. Read Luke 4:18-19 in the Amplified version to see what that's all about, and have a great Easter! Today, and everyday! Tell me about your Easter : how did God show His presence in your church this week?
