Stuff Christians (Don't) Like

One of my favourite blogs is Jon Acuff's Stuff Christians Like.  Since I introduced Diane to it, we have regular discussions about the topics which come up...most of which are grounded in real issues, and Jon gets away with bringing them up due to his special gift for deprecating humour. The Understanding How Metrosexual Your Worship Leader Is post is a particularly valuable resource to make sure I don't slip up and lose my crown. Or something. Anyway...since everyone (that I know about) who reads this blog is a Christian - as a Christian, what are 2 things that you like, and 1 thing that you don't like? And if you're not a Christian and visit here, welcome! You've not made yourself known up to now, so I'd love for you to tell me what you like, and don't like.  Everyone's welcome here in space. In a change from my usual modus operandi, I'll got first so you get the idea (*gasp*). It's pretty deep you know...
1. Meerkats - so cute and hilarious 2. Jesus Culture - helped changed my perspective at a key time in my (worship leading) life 3. Pork Chops - I used to dislike pork full stop.  I now just dislike pork chops.
Yes, that's what I mean. Though you can take it wherever you like of course; just keep it friendly. Consider this the real light and fluffy post for the week.  Yeah, it's lame I know...but in the words of Sharona from Monk : "suck it up". And thank you...

Tongues

It's been far too many weeks since my last non-Sunday-recap-based God post.  Which is odd, since it has been a period where I've probably been more intensely immersed in all things God than I have been for a while...probably since I finished Bible College at the beginning of 2008 in fact. I know I said at the start of this whole transition thing that I needed some laughs to lighten the journey - and there have been plenty, not to mention way more enjoyment of the process than I'd (we'd) anticipated - but I have a bit of a problem with how little of my output on here has had anything to do with Him. So, this week, I'm rectifying that.  And I can still have a laugh at the same time, since some of the funniest times we've had the past few weeks have been in church or at conferences.  God is good, God invented humour, God is awesomesauce ... all the time. So today, a question...

Are (unknown) tongues a part of your worship services?

You know, just something light and fluffy to kick off the week. I'll give our church experience in the comments...you first though ;)

Chocobacon : The Scratchings

By popular demand, here it is. Previous instalments in the saga can be found here and here and here. Some Stats: - we had around 40 minutes of "material" to sort through. - approx 5 minutes of it was seriously unfit for public consumption...I had no idea just how wrong I could be (and it was all me). Of course, you may think the bits I've elected to include might be inappropriate anyway... - we alluded to including a taste test of chilled chocobaconbits. It was delicious, but the footage was just boring. - there will quite likely be some "issues" with an occasional word that may be acceptable in some countries and not in others, ifyaknoworrimean. And yes, my laugh sounds a lot like Muttley, get used to it, 'cause there's a fair bit of it in here...

Should I...?

The chocobacon thing has been going for a few weeks now (no, I'm not going to link it all...), and Diane's contribution with Digella Awesome continues to make me laugh. So I've done the outtakes video. Thing is...should I post it? It's very funny. To me. But will it be to you? So...how about you let me know what you'd like me to do. In the first comment down there, I've inserted a little PollDaddy Poll, so head on down and vote for whether this should go up or not.  Get voting.
